Our Spring concert will present thoughtful pairings of a cappella part songs from the English and German Romantic periods. This music represents an era when composers began to use the explore the increasingly creative and expressive capabilities of the choir, especially in the realm of secular music. The result was a body of work that while challenging, is uniquely beautiful.
This program will especially highlight music written by Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Clara Schumann, as well as some little known and rather unexpected gems from 20th century America. Be sure to save this date on your calendars, and then join us for some Sweet Music!
