We are especially thrilled to introduce our outstanding Bachfest soloists!

Noted for her shimmering voice with rich tones, soprano Deborah Anderson has captivated audiences of all ages with her performances. Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Ms. Anderson is a recent Graduate of the Lamont School of Music. After performing several times at Lincoln Center and Steinway Hall, she sang the role of Adele in Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. In addition to participating in The Vocal Arts Festival/Young Artists Summer Intensive with Martile Rowland and The Dandelion Opera Institute under the direction of Sahar Nouri, Ms. Anderson recently returned from spending 2 months in France and  Germany studying and singing with Classic Lyric Arts and Lyric Opera Studio Weimar.

 

 

Mezzo-Soprano Siobhan Eggleston is also a resident of Colorado Springs and has sung with many Colorado Springs ensembles, including The Chamber Singers of the Colorado Springs Chorale, the Glen Eyrie Madrigals Singers, and Unity Project. Born into a family of musicians, Siobhan studied jazz, musical theater, and later classical music where she discovered a deep love for Baroque music. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in both music education and vocal music performance from Adams State University, as well as special certifications in Orff Schulwerk education from MSU Denver. Ms. Eggleston currently instructs general music at Bristol Elementary in The Colorado Springs School District 11, a STEAM school where she has served students with rigorous ingenuity for 8 years.

 

 

 

 

Tenor David Price is from the Philadelphia area and has performed extensively as a soloist with such notable organizations as the Philadelphia Singers, Ama Deus Ensemble, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Chautauqua Opera, Cincinnati Opera, and Vox the Renaissance Consort.  His New York debut was made as the Male Chorus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, and he sang Orfeo in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo opposite Julianne Baird’s Eurydice. Mr. Price’s European debut was at the Spoleto Festival as Apollo in Handel’s Semele, and his many oratorio roles include Gerontius in Elgar’s “The Dream of Gerontius”, the Evangelist in Bach’s St. John Passion, Easter Oratorio, and St. Matthew Passion, St. Nicolas in Britten’s St. Nicolas, Rachmaninoff’s and Monteverdi’s Vespers, and Verdi’s Requiem.

 

 

 

 

Baritone Jamal Sarikoki is an accomplished soloist and conductor and currently resides in the Chicago area. Known for his vocal agility and beautiful legato line (Herald Tribune), Jamal has sung the roles of Papageno in the Magic Flute, Giorgio Germont in La Traviata, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, and the title role in Gianni Schicchi. As an oratorio singer, Jamal has sung the baritone roles in Bach’s Mass in B Minor, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and many other larger works. Mr. Sarikoki began his 7 years in New York studying conducting at Nyack College and the Bard Conservatory. After serving 4 years as a Music Associate and Assistant Organist at West Point Cadet Chapel. USMA, he served as Senior Organist and Director of Instrumental Music at Calvary Baptist Church in Midtown Manhattan, and then Worship Lead at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. Jamal is a regular soloist and choral singer with the nationally recognized, and Grammy nominated St. Tikhons Choir in Pennsylvania, and has been featured on recordings of original music by Benedict Sheehan.
