About Us

Our Story

While the population of Colorado Springs has been growing rapidly and this growth is projected to continue for the foreseeable future, the number of choirs in the area has not grown in the last 3 decades. We believe that as Colorado Springs grows, so should its arts community. ChoralSong hopes not only to be part of that growth, but also to fill a unique niche.

Our vision is to form a choir of 24-28 talented voices that presents concerts designed to attract a broad range of music lovers. Our concerts feature many styles of old and new music–from Renaissance to Romantic, and from Gospel to Jazz–all performed with the same degree of artistic integrity. This requires a unique choir of matched and flexible singers, and it requires an experienced leadership team committed to making that vision a reality. With this close-knit team, we present highly expressive and engaging choral performances designed to attract and enrich the cultural life of the broader Pikes Peak community.

While we are beginning as a volunteer choir, over the next several years we aim to become a partially, and potentially even a fully, professional choir. By keeping our choir small, we can not only minimize some costs, but we also can keep our audition standards at the highest level possible. Our goal is to gain a reputation for excellence that begins here in the Pikes Peak Region, but quickly spreads across the nation.

"A very impressive performance! I am very honored that your artists gave the cycle such a fine presentation, beautifully sung and danced, conveying an appropriate and poignant, rustic American character. My thanks and congratulations to all your splendid musicians and dancers!"

Stephen Mager - St. Louis-based Composer

In my singing experience with Choral Song, I have found this group to be a place where exceptional artistry meets deep human connection—where singers don’t just perform; they tell stories that transcend time, culture, and genre. We are one of the few ensembles in the region, and truly in the country, that can move seamlessly from Renaissance polyphony to jazz, from spirituals to cutting-edge contemporary works. And we do it all with heart, precision, and a commitment to excellence.

I’ve enjoyed singing with ChoralSong for the past two seasons, and I am very much looking forward to the coming season’s music. The challenge of perfecting a broad range of music and then folding my single voice into a cohesive, seamless whole in a way that connects with the listener is invigorating. I appreciate that every member approaches the music with the same dedication and appreciation for what we can do together at Dan’s direction. In a hectic, busy world, I’ve found ChoralSong to be an endeavor worthy of the time and attention we bring to it.

Just had to tell you again how wonderful last night was! You made the music so incredibly beautiful - completely moving! Thanks again for such a lovely evening. I'll be getting a ticket later this week to the May concert -- definitely want to attend the celebration on 5/4! Cheers to a job well done; what a great night!
